I suggest doing an internet search for instructions on installing the drivers for your printer and scanner. In this article, I will discuss installing the printer and scanner drivers for my Brother printer, and testing that the installation went properly. HP provides excellent support for Linux drivers for its printers you will find varying support from other manufacturers. Canon does provide Linux printer drivers for some of their printers, but does no longer provides a Linux driver for the Pixma Pro-100. Brother provides good Linux driver support for its printers. I have two printers, a Brother MFC-J470DW (all-in-one: printer, scanner, copier, fax) and a Canon Pixma Pro-100 printer. Also, xsane is used for scanning and uses the driver for your scanner, which you will also have to install. Linux uses lpd and CUPS for printing, but since lpd is not supported in WSL, it is necessary to start the CUPS server and load the lpd and CUPS drivers for your printer. WSL also does not support printing from the command line. Warning: WSL does not currently support USB connected printers, only networked printers.
